Tidmouth Sheds - an art project

A few days ago, while Dorian took his nap, Tristan asked me if we could build Tidmouth Sheds for their train set. (You can buy a Thomas & Friends one for $55-75). I said sure, and grabbed an old shoe box. He told me what colors he wanted to paint it and drew the openings for the doors. I cut the doors out and built the roof. Tristan did all the painting and made the sign. I did touch-ups on the paint and now it is home for 4 engines.

Good job. Bet it was fun together time too!

You're such a good mom! I'm terrible at doing things like that with my kids. What a good idea-I'm going to show it to Peyton and see if he wants to build one too. What kind of paint did you use?

ok, this one and the last one is not from Steve-it's from Amy-his login is saved and I didn't want to take the time to login under my name so instead I took much longer to type this clarifying comment :)

Hehe... No problem, I figured it out when you were talking about Peyton. :) We used acrylic paint that we mixed with water to thin it out a little. The box is painted all the way around, even though you only see the front in the pictures. It didn't even take an hour.
I'm always amazed at how much easier the projects are than the idea of the projects. He'd been asking me about helping him build that off and on for a few months before he finally asked at the right time. Have fun with yours!
